Eric Coles has been quite literally setting the tone for exciting projects for more than twenty years. He cut his creative teeth in the record business discovering talent and guiding the artistic direction for various musicians, most notably Maxwell. While Richard Avedon was shooting Coles for a Levis Strauss national ad campaign featuring Eric’s sound design company, he got the fashion and photography bug. Segueing from music, Coles launched a successful apparel business that saw his t-shirt designs on the backs of boldface names like Seal, Jennifer Connelly and Kanye West, and on the racks in specialty stores like Fred Segal, Beams and Lane Crawford. Today, Eric brings his talent and design background to varied projects as an art director. Clients include MTV Networks, Essence Magazine, Sony Music, Ralph Lauren, Club Monaco, Black Fleece, Brooks Brothers and Ann Taylor.
